  • Andrea is Associate Professor in Interior Design and one of the School’s Director of International Development. His teaching responsibilities include design tutor 4th year major projects, thesis, and Design Studio leader at 2nd/3rd year levels. Andrea coordinates 1st year Technical Studies and Study Abroad/Student Exchange activities. He is the International Student Selection Officer. He is interested in the value of travel as a profound learning experience and has organised student travel studios to Morocco, Spain and India.

  • Andrea is enrolled in Ph.D. by project titled ‘Intimate Immensity; an Interior Architecture’. The research is predicated on ideas of tensions; tension between durability and fragility, between completion and destruction, between erosions and revelations, between the object and the frame and between making and the exclamation thereof.

  • Dr. Ashraf M. Salama is a Reader in Architecture at Queens University Belfast in the United Kingdom. He is a licensed architect in Egypt, trained at Al Azhar University and North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC. USA.
  • Dr. Salama has been involved with the Community Development Group of the College of Design, North Carolina State University (1992-95), researching and teaching at the graduate level.
  • With varied experience in academic research, teaching, design and research based consultancy, Dr. Salama bridges theory and design and pedagogy and practice in his professional activities. He has written over 100 articles and papers in local and international conferences, archival journals, and trade magazines.
  • He has delivered lectures and presentations in over 25 countries and contributed widely to several international publications. He was a member of the UIA/UNESCO International Committee of Architectural Education, and the Director of Architectural Education Work Program of the International Union of Architects-UIA (1995-00).
  • Dr. Salama is currently the coordinator of the International Association for People-Environments Studies-IAPS Education Network, UK. In 2006, he was selected to establish a new online-refereed academic output: International Journal of Architectural Research (Archnet-IJAR), sponsored by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture, and with the technical support of ArchNet at MIT's School of Architecture and Planning. Recently, he was selected as a board member of the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health-IJERPH. Dr. Salama is also a collaborating/associate editor of OHI-Open House International.
  • Mr. Dean D’Cruz, a graduate of Sir J.J. College of Architecture and is actively involved both in his professional field of architecture as well as academics as a Visiting Faculty in the Goa College of Architecture since 1987.
  • He is a Partner and Principal Architect in MOZAIC – design combine, a leading design firm based in Goa, involved in Planning, Urban Intervention, Architecture, Conservation, Product Design, Brand Building and Graphic Design. He has conducted numerous workshops and seminars all over the country and his works and articles have been published in leading magazines in India and abroad.

  • As practicing architect, educator, author, and pioneer in the movement for conservation of architectural heritage Kamil Khan Mumtaz, has been a leading influence in raising standards of architectural design in general and in the search for a contemporary, appropriate architecture for Pakistan responsive to climate, economy and materials yet rooted in the indigenous culture.
  • Farooque Shaikh made his debut as an actor some 32 years ago in the MS Sathyu-directed classic Garam Hawa. Soon to follow was an immensely successful romantic film, Noorie. Although the following years saw him achievemoderate success in a number of offbeat films, real stardom remained elusive. Not that he chased after it. One can never forget his wonderfully inspired performance in the hit comedy Chashme Baddoor, which was to pave the way for his later roles in sitcoms on television.
  • Some 12 years after he was first seen on TV, Farooque has created a niche for himself in this medium, albeit more as a comedian. For someone whose foray into cinema was not a planned move, Farooque has indeed come a long way.

  • Mrs. Chitra K Vishwanath has been an ardent ecological architect since the beginning of her career. With a complete commitment to sustainable architecture, her practice spanned 15 years during which she executed around 500 projects – residential, institutional and tourism.
  • Between the year 1990 and 1998 she worked alone, but from 1998, the practice grew to a group 15+ ecological architects. The practice is now under the umbrella of Biome Environmental Solutions Pvt. Ltd (Biome). Students from all over the world now come for internships to Biome.
  • During her practice, Mrs. Chitra K Vishwanath has developed the basic supply-chains of contractors, masons, and plumbers who understand and have the skills to execute mud/earth construction based projects integrating sound water and energy management. Her work and philosophy has also received significant media attention – Print, Radio and Television.

  • The firm ‘Environ Planners’ was established in 1981 in Nashik by Ar. Sanjay M.Patil. Respecting nature has always been an integral element of the firm’s approach. The firm’s efforts are consciously directed towards application of solar energy efficient principles to the building design.

  • Dr. Anita Singh is a professional with varied experience and contributions in areas of public welfare activities and is a keen environmentalist with passion for nature and ecology and heritage, arts and crafts.
  • As Chairman of the Red Cross Society and Child Development Council, she championed programs involving raising charity and organizing health awareness and blood donation camps. She initiated many literacy drives and facilitated extensive use of mobile libraries for children in rural areas of Haryana.
  • She has particularly worked for the revival of the dwindling number of traditional crafts, particularly the weavers of handloom "khes" and ‘odhnis’. In fact, she was actively involved at its very inception with the Suraj Kund Crafts Mela which has gone on to become a very successful annual congregation of artisans with handicrafts from across the country.
  • Since her relocation to Mumbai, Dr Singh was associated with the restoration of the BDL museum as a voluntary associate with the Intach Chapter of Mumbai.
  • Dr Singh is currently involved in setting up a nature centric chain of hospitality projects.
  • Put Karnataka on the national map of architecture education by developing two institutions in Karnataka into Centers of excellence viz Department of Architecture, Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal (from 1982 to 1992) and School of Architecture, R V College of Engineering, Bangalore (from 1993  till date) as Head of the department & as Director respectively. Presently Principal of the upgraded RV College of Architecture.
  • Leads by example and teaches a record number of five courses per semester at the highest level.
  • One of the very few architects in India with a doctoral degree from the Center for Human Settlements, IIM-Bangalore. His doctoral work and other research works have been published in ‘Architectural Science Review’ published from University of Sydney. Have more than 50 publications in national journals on architecture.
